Williams will utilize Mercedes motors until 2025 at least in Formula 1.
The group, already dedicated to Mercedes for second season, have signed a new arrangement for the next five years.
Since finishing third in 2015 and 2014 williams have diminished, their first two seasons with Mercedes later motors came to F1.
They are on course this year and ended in 2018, but they expect a technical section restructure will revive fortunes.
Williams deputy team principal Claire Williams said:”Mercedes has been among the game’s most successful engine providers and we think they’ll continue to have a very competitive engine bundle going forwards.
“Over our time with them they’ve become a true friend of the team.”
New rules intended for 2021 are aimed toward making the grid more competitive. A funding cap has been agreed, while racing to be allowed by new technological rules are being finalised before groups and the sport’s bosses proceed to agreeing a revenue break.
“Williams is one of those iconic manufacturers in F1,” said Mercedes motorsport manager Toto Wolff.
“They have been through some hard times lately but that’s only served to demonstrate their resilience and strength of personality as they battle right back into where they belong on the grid.
“I’m sure that the outlook for separate teams is glowing under the financial regulations that’ll be released from 2021 and we’re thrilled to continue our partnership Williams into that new era of our game.”
On the group has been struck on by the poor on-track functionality from a team that dominated big swathes of the 1980s and 1990s financially. This week, they published a loss of #16.8m to the first six months of this calendar year, which has been attributed to decreased prize money along with the reduction of a sponsorship income.
Chief executive Mike O’Driscoll said:”Though we continue to confront challenges in a very dynamic environment, we believe the majority of the impact on EBITDA [earnings before interest, taxation, depreciation, and amortisation] to the entire year has been captured in these interim outcomes.
“We continue to believe we are well placed to react to the challenges with world-class facilities plus a powerful and talented organisation”
Williams possess a contract with British newcomer George Russell to last into next year.
They still haven’t decided on another driver, with reserve driver Nicolas Latifi and Robert Kubica both in with a possibility of this seat.
