Stuart Broad gets David Warner for seventh time in Ashes series as Australia stutter in 399 chase

Stuart Broad discounted David Warner for its seventh time in the series as Australia was reduced by England to 68-3 at lunch in their bid for a series-tying draw on day four of the fifth Ashes Test at The Oval.
Warner (11) edged Broad into Rory Burns at slide to end a dreadful series with 95 runs in 10 innings in an average of 9.50 – that the left-hander’s final knock only the second time that he reached double figures.
Warner and Marcus Harris (9) had finished Australia’s greatest opening stand that summer – a paltry 18 – until Broad delivered Harris’ off stump cartwheeling from round the wicket.
Australia, pursuing 399 for success after dismissing England for 329, were then steadied from the usual suspects Steve Smith (18no) and also Marnus Labuschagne (14) – only for Jack Leach to develop into a rescue beyond the latter’s external edge and have him overrun by Jonny Bairstow.
Leach (9) and also Jofra Archer (3) fell inside 20 minutes after England had resumed on 313-8 – Archer out caught behind on inspection after he was demonstrated to have gloved Pat Cummins down the leg-side, also Leach caught off Nathan Lyon (4-69) at mid-on later top-edging a sweep.
Broad swelled England’s complete by hammering two sixes prior to his 2 wickets and one for Leach boosted their hopes of a 2-2 draw.
Smith – that now has Matthew Wade (10no) for company – stands in their way, though.
