Given his head by the trainer’s son the son of Galileo, Donnacha O’Brien put distance between himself and his competitors – passing that the article two and three-quarter lengths clear of Wargrave, with Winiata greatest of the remainder in third.
“That is the ideal feel he has given me so far,” said the rider.
“By (stall) 17, to have the pace for up to a position such as that early, he’s done very well. He travelled around easy.
“He impressed me today – I think he’s quite a good horse.
“I believed a mile and a quarter has been going to be his trip, but he travelled so easy and revealed a great deal of speed today – so a mile or a mile and a quarter will be his trips”
