King’s Lynn Transported the colours of the Queen 300,000 2-Y-O Stakes at Doncaster.
A second on debut at Windsor took a step ahead to land this contest that was valuable in champion jockey-elect Oisin Murphy’s palms.
As ever the race has been ultra-competitive, and King’s Lynn has been the runner at the area.
The Cable Bay colt burst evident on entering the last furlong and while many mounted on a late challenge out of the pack, King’s Lynn (12-1) had half a length in deliver Repartee in the line, with Toro Strike next.
Murphy said:”I was thrilled. He clearly has a huge heart. We trained his mum Kinematic, she was also quite small and he’s a fantastic advertisement for his sire (Cable Bay). He is absolutely flying.
“I assume Andrew, John Warren and Her Majesty may talk, but I believe six furlongs is likely OK for him. I imagine he will collect up. Let’s see how he develops.”
