Hammer Series finale in Hong Kong cancelled due to ongoing protests

The final event of the seasons Hammer Series in Hong Kong was cancelled because of violence between authorities and protesters.
Organisers, Velon, say they have decided to postpone the event scheduled for Sunday 13 October and have been monitoring the situation from the city.
This means Team Jumbo-Visma are crowned overall Hammer Series winners for 2019. The team came second in Limburg and won the first occasion in Stavanger. Deceuninck Quick-Step finish next with Team Sunweb.
We are sorry that the fans will not get to see the top teams on the planet go all-out for total victory from the Hammer Series at Hong Kong again this season, stated Velon chief executive Graham Bartlett.
But, Team Jumbo-Visma would be the standout group of the years series and they deserve the title.
We are already in the middle of planning the next years Hammer Series and we look forward to return in Hong Kong for its large Hammer Series finale in 2020.
