Tom Davies initial goal for Bristol Rovers helped the West Country side up to fourth in League One as they saw MK Dons at the Memorial Stadium off.
The first half was a drab affair, even with all the home side coming closest when Tom Nichols drove wide while Conor McGrandles saw his shot sail over the bar for those visitors after the ball was squared to him by Tyler Smith.
Without injured top scorer Jonson Clarke-Harris clinical finishing, Graham Coughlans guys lacked a cutting edge – but four minutes after the restart the deadlock broke.
Only moments before, Dons keeper Lee Nicholls had denied by a yard out Davies, but the stayed upfield to film Luke Leahys left-wing delivery beyond the Rovers stopper.
When his rasping drive from 25 yards was palmed off by Nicholls ed Upson might have put the Gas two goals ahead soon afterwards.
MK Dons stepped up the strain on, but it wasnt enough to prevent a fifth League One defeat, while Bristol Rovers extended their unbeaten league run to six games.
